Shutter Styles

A range of options in terms of style, material and design features

Shutters unique to your taste and your property’s requirements

With years of experience in the industry, at Bright Light Shutters we recognise that different clients have different needs and preferences. Our broad selection of styles allows us to cater to every client and give their room the transformation they’ve envisioned.

Our shutters can be tailor-made to your requirements in any of the following styles.

Full height window shutter

Full height shutters

As the name implies, full height shutters cover the whole window and in doing so create crisp, regimented lines which give an elegant and high-end look to your room. Whether your room is designed to a modern or traditional taste, this classic shutter style will complement any décor and design.

Full height shutters offer complete privacy whilst still allowing light to come in. Whatever your mood, full height shutters can create the atmosphere you’re looking for at any given moment by offering light control and a great form of insulation.

Café style shutters

Café style shutters only cover the bottom half of your window and omit a chic, continental vibe. Simultaneously a design-statement and practical option; café style shutters offer privacy and an expression of taste.

Café style shutters offer privacy at eye-level and so are often used for window’s facing the street. Whilst they block attention from people looking in from the street, they nevertheless allow the sun and light to stream in through the top half of the window. This is a great way to pair sophistication and style with practicality.

Tier-on-tier shutters

Tier-on-tier shutters offer ultimate flexibility and style. Not dissimilar to full height shutters but they have two separate panels separating the top shutters from the bottom shutters. These tiered shutters function independently so give you more freedom in how your shutters work for you.

The most noteworthy benefit of tier-on-tier shutters is therefore their versatility. For example, you can choose to have your top-tier shutters open to let light flood in, whilst leaving your bottom-tier shutters closed for complete privacy. Tier-on-tier shutters give you great flexibility for how you enjoy your room. They are both stylish and practical.

Tracked shutters

Tracked shutters are ideal for windows that start at floor height, patio or French doors. These shutters run on a track mechanism at both the top and bottom, for smooth transitions that let you open up your room to the world.

Tracked shutters are ideal for larger windows and openings, room dividers and wardrobes. They can be designed in your choice of material and colour to suit your space.

Special shaped shutters

As experts in this industry, we have the experience required to create tailor-made, bespoke shutters and this includes their shape. Unique window shapes can be a highlight of your property’s interior design but might also be problematic…fortunately not where we’re concerned! We can create shutters in a range of shapes to fit any window, such as triangle, arched, circle, trapezoid, eye-browed or half ellipse top, hexagon and more.

Solid shutters

Solid shutters differ from the other styles in that instead of louvres, they have a solid insert covering the window. Originally used in the Victorian era to increase insulation, solid shutters remain a great option.

Solid shutters are a popular choice for those wishing to reduce outside noise, increase insulation and block out light. Due to their insulating properties, they are perfect for windows with single glazing. They are also often used to enhance property value by restoring period features and traditional style.

We offer two different styles for our panel inserts: flat (solid flat panel) and raised (solid raised panel).

Blackout Shutters

Blackout shutters are ideal for shift workers. They also provide excellent insulation –  good in keeping the heat in the winter and blocking out more noise.

They are integrated into the shutter frame, inside a recess/groove.

The design is a honey cell/duette type fabric that folds as an accordion. They come in 2 colours (white/light greyish or black) and two styles:

  • tensioned with a handle on the blind
  • or corded – with a pull cord which is handy when they are high up
